The Venezianico Arsenale Ultrablack 6221510 is named after the Arsenale of Venice, the Venetian Republic’s historic shipyard. Its 316L stainless steel case and bezel measure 40 mm in diameter, 44 mm lug to lug, and 8.95 mm thick including the crystal. The bezel has a finely ridged edge, and the case mixes satin and polished surfaces. The brass dial is coated in Japanese Musou Black paint, which absorbs 99.4% of light. The dial carries only an applied Venezianico cross and two polished hands, which seem to float over the black surface. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. The watch is powered by the Miyota 9029, a no-date, two-hand automatic beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The Arsenale Ultrablack displays hours and minutes only, with no seconds hand, indexes or date. It comes on an integrated black rubber strap with a steel end link. The optional Canova Concept stainless steel bracelet, sold separately for USD 100, turns it into an integrated-bracelet watch. The caseback is engraved with a space station set against the cosmos. The Arsenale 40 collection also includes dials in grey, blue and purple, plus Avventurina, Meteorite and Bronzo versions. The Ultrablack costs USD 885 on Venezianico’s US store, including duties and US import tariffs. It launched at EUR 656 excluding VAT.
Reviewers mostly highlight the dial and the value. Fratello called the Arsenale range “an absolute steal in the current market”. It praised the precise ridged bezel, the deliberately sharp case edges and the “inky and bottomless black surface” of the Ultrablack. Its criticisms were the caseback inscription and the 50 m water resistance. The Calibrated Wrist wrote that the dial “doesn’t look real” and that the slim case is unusually comfortable. It noted that the polished hands can almost disappear in dim light, making the watch hard to read. It also preferred the rubber strap to the bracelet for the contrast it gives with the dial. The Arsenale Ultrablack is currently in production and available from Venezianico’s official online stores.
