Venezianico

Venezianico is an Italian watch brand founded in late 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli. Headquartered in San Dona di Piave, near Venice, the brand was established while the founders were students at Ca Foscari University of Venice. Originally launched under the name Meccaniche Veneziane following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the company officially rebranded as Venezianico in 2022 to better reflect its deep connection to Venetian heritage and values.

The brand’s identity is heavily influenced by the history and architecture of Venice. Its logo is inspired by the golden Renaissance cross located atop the Clock Tower in St. Mark’s Square, a symbol the brothers noted as representing the passage of time in their hometown. Venezianico focuses on creating mechanical watches that aim to balance quality craftsmanship with accessible pricing.

Enthusiasts are often drawn to the brand for its distinct Italian design language and the use of unique materials. Design, engineering, and marketing are handled in-house, and the watches frequently feature 316L stainless steel, sapphire crystals, and straps made from Italian leather. Collectors also appreciate the brand’s innovative use of dial materials, such as Musou Black and aventurine glass, as well as its decorative casebacks.

The Venezianico catalog is headlined by several key collections: – The Redentore collection is inspired by the Basilica del Redentore, designed by architect Andrea Palladio, and features a classic, elegant aesthetic.
– The Nereide is the brand’s robust diving watch collection, which includes variations like the Nereide GMT.
– The Arsenal is another core line that contributes to the brand’s diverse range of mechanical timepieces.
– The Nereide Ultraleggero showcases an avant-garde approach, characterized by its skeletonized design and lightweight construction.
