About this watch

The MoonSwatch 1965, reference SO33M106, is a quartz chronograph from the Omega x Swatch Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection. The case measures 42 mm in diameter, 13.25 mm thick and 47.3 mm lug to lug. It is made of grey Bioceramic, a matte material that Swatch describes as about two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced material derived from castor oil. Water resistance is 30 m (3 bar). The black Bioceramic bezel carries a white tachymeter scale. The white step dial has black hands and indices, an applied Omega logo and the original Omega typeface and hands. The quartz movement drives hours, minutes, seconds and a chronograph with three sub-dials.

The model marks the 1965 NASA flight qualification of the Omega Speedmaster. Its main detail is in the chronograph counters. The counter at 10 o’clock is marked 19 instead of 60 and totals 19 hours, while the counter at 2 o’clock is marked 65 instead of 10 and totals 65 minutes, so the chronograph reads differently from a standard one. Under UV light the numerals 19, 65 and 60 glow blue. The watch comes on a grey Velcro strap with light grey stitching and an Omega logo,. Swatch released it on 1 March 2025 at USD 270 and GBP 240. By October 2026 the Swatch US price was USD 300. It is sold only in selected Swatch stores, with a limit of one per person, per day and per store.

Press reaction was mostly positive about the design. Professional Watches ranked it among the best MoonSwatch designs to date and found the 42 mm size suitable for most wrists, but described the supplied Velcro strap as unappealing. Teddy Baldassarre’s blog found the 19 and 65 counters confusing at first but welcomed the extra complexity in a quartz watch. Oracle of Time compared its look to the white-dial Omega Speedmaster ref. 310.30.42.50.04.001, while noting that MoonSwatch hype has faded. On Omega Forums, members praised the step dial and the historical logo, while others said the counter logic was hard to follow and questioned the price and the hype. As of October 2026 the MoonSwatch 1965 remains in production and on sale at selected Swatch stores.
