About this watch

The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar presented in 2026 is a compact automatic calendar watch in a 36 mm case, 9.8 mm thick, made in 18-carat pink or white gold, with a sapphire crystal, a sapphire caseback and water resistance of 30 m. The solid silver dial is grey on the pink gold model and argenté on the white gold model. It has gold baton indexes with a new facet, alpha hands in the case colour, an outsize date at 12 o’clock and slightly recessed sub-dials with azurage for the day, month and running seconds. The self-winding calibre L207.1 has 491 components, runs at 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and has a 60-hour power reserve. It uses a central rotor with a 950 platinum mass, screwed gold chatons and a hand-engraved balance cock.

The annual calendar distinguishes between 30- and 31-day months and needs one correction a year, at the end of February. The moon phase disc is made of 18-carat gold with 428 stars and needs a one-day correction only after 122.6 years. Each display can be set individually through flush correctors, or all together with a pusher at 10 o’clock. Two references were launched at Watches and Wonders 2026: 331.033E in pink gold with grey dial and 331.026E in white gold with argenté dial, both on hand-stitched alligator straps with gold pin buckles. WatchesBySJX gave a price of USD 63,000 before tax, with an indicative price of around EUR 65,000 in Europe.

WatchesBySJX’s hands-on review said the watch gets the small things right, praising its size, the fine dial printing, the legible outsize date and the movement finishing. It judged it better value than Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar 5396R. Its reservations were the conservative design, which some may find dull, a moon phase it would have replaced with a day and night display, a shorter power reserve than the L086.1, sparse rotor decoration and the need for a stylus for yearly corrections. The Saxonia Annual Calendar 36 mm is a regular production model made in small numbers and sold through Lange boutiques as of October 2026.
