Olivier Mory is a prominent Swiss watchmaker and entrepreneur known for his expertise in movement design and his efforts to democratize high-end complications. Born in Colmar, Alsace, Mory’s interest in horology was sparked at age thirteen following a visit to a clock restorer. He subsequently pursued formal training at the watchmaking college in Morteau, France, where he completed a comprehensive six-year curriculum in watch repair, design, and production.

His professional career began at the renowned design studio Renaud & Papi in Switzerland, where he gained experience in production engineering and the codes of fine watchmaking while the studio was developing movements for Richard Mille. Mory later spent several years at Sellita, where he played a key role in developing industrial manufacturing and assembly methods for large-scale movement production.

In 2016, Olivier Mory co-founded the watch brand SKILL alongside his brother, Thomas Mory. Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the brand is characterized by its steampunk-inspired aesthetic and a commitment to 100% Swiss-made production. SKILL is built upon six core pillars: Swiss, Recycled, Autonomous, Interchangeable, Guaranteed, and Fair. One of the brand’s unique features is its modular approach, allowing customers to send back entry-level models to be upgraded with high-end movements, such as tourbillons, within the same case.

In addition to his work with SKILL, Mory founded BCP Tourbillons in 2017. The company’s mission is to make the tourbillon—traditionally one of horology’s most expensive complications—more accessible by streamlining industrial solutions without compromising on Swiss-made quality. Through BCP Tourbillons and his development firm, OM Mechanics, Mory has collaborated with numerous prestigious and independent brands, including Yema, Delma, BA111OD, and Louis Erard, providing them with sophisticated manufacture movements and technical expertise.

Throughout his career, Mory has emphasized transparency in the supply chain and the promotion of local Swiss craftsmanship. He continues to be a central figure in the independent watchmaking scene, blending traditional artisanal skills with modern industrial efficiency to create durable and technically innovative timepieces.
