Didier Finck is a French entrepreneur and co-founder of Apose, an independent watch brand established in November 2020 in Mulhouse, France. Alongside co-founder Ludovic Zussa, Finck envisioned a brand that prioritizes French elegance and local manufacturing, challenging the industry’s focus on high-complication movements in favor of pure design and functional simplicity.

Under Finck’s leadership, Apose has been defined by a commitment to the “French style,” characterized by understated sophistication and a departure from traditional round or square watch shapes. He was instrumental in establishing a unique supply chain consisting of 17 different manufacturers who had never previously collaborated. This network allowed the brand to produce watches like the n°3 collection, which achieved 80% French-made components, including a movement developed in partnership with Soprod and produced by France Ebauches.

Finck’s strategic vision for Apose includes a strong emphasis on artisanal mastery and technical innovation. When the brand faced challenges finding domestic suppliers for specific components, such as dials, Finck and his team developed original processes combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. This dedication to local industry culminated in the opening of Apose’s first boutique and workshop in the heart of Mulhouse in late 2022.

Throughout his tenure, Finck has advocated for the viability of high-end French horology, proving that luxury timepieces can be designed and assembled entirely within France. His work with Apose continues to focus on the interplay of materials, light, and form, positioning the brand as a key player in the modern revival of French watchmaking.
