About this watch

The Tudor Monarch, reference M2639W1A0U-0001, is a 39 mm steel watch with an integrated-style bracelet. The case is 11.9 mm thick and 46.2 mm from lug to lug, with brushed and polished surfaces on the flanks and hooded lugs. A screw-down crown and caseback give 100 m of water resistance. Box-shaped sapphire crystals are fitted front and back, so the movement is visible. The dark champagne dial is brushed vertically and carries a California-style layout, with Roman numerals at the top and Arabic numerals at the bottom, applied blackened markers and skeletonised hands. There is no luminous material. The movement is the automatic calibre MT5662-2U running at 28,800 vph with a power reserve of about 65 hours. It is a Master Chronometer certified to COSC and METAS standards. Functions are hours, minutes and small seconds at six o’clock.

Tudor launched the Monarch at Watches & Wonders 2026. The name comes from a Tudor model of the 1990s that was retired in the early 2000s, but the new watch shares only the name and the shield logo with it. Its design draws on the 1920s, the decade of Tudor’s founding. It was released in a single configuration. The steel bracelet uses Tudor’s T-Fit clasp with about 8 mm of tool-free adjustment and ceramic ball bearings, and the lugs take a 20 mm strap. The list price is USD 5,875 excluding tax, CHF 4,800 including VAT and GBP 4,600.

Reception has been mostly positive, with clear reservations. WatchesbySJX called it sporty and dressy at once, praising the case flanks, the solid bracelet with well-fitted endlinks and the movement decoration, while noting a stamped pallet fork bridge and finishing below the best automatics from Rolex, Swatch Group and Grand Seiko. HiConsumption praised the case finishing and the way the dial changes with the light, but criticised the lack of lume and a price near the top of Tudor’s steel range, and said the mixed-numeral dial will divide opinion. HiConsumption also found that it wears compactly and true to its 39 mm size. As of October 2026 the Monarch is in production and stocked by Tudor retailers.
