The 2024 Tudor Black Bay in black, reference M7941A1A0NU-0001, is a 41 mm steel dive watch with an all-black, no-gilt colour scheme. The polished and satin-finished case is 13.6 mm thick, with 21 mm lugs and a lug-to-lug length of about 50 mm according to Monochrome. It is water resistant to 200 m and has a screw-down crown with the Tudor rose in relief. The unidirectional 60-minute bezel has a black aluminium insert, and a domed sapphire crystal covers the domed black dial. The dial has silver-coloured applied markers and Tudor’s angular Snowflake hands, filled with white Super-LumiNova. Inside is the Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U, made by Kenissi, with a bidirectional self-winding rotor, silicon balance spring, variable-inertia balance and 25 jewels. It runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), has a 70-hour power reserve and is certified by both COSC and METAS as a Master Chronometer.
The Black Bay line takes its dial design from Tudor dive watches of the 1950s and its Snowflake hands from the 1969 catalogue. In 2023 the 41 mm Black Bay moved to the METAS-certified MT5602-U with a burgundy bezel. In 2024 Tudor added this monochrome version with a black insert and silver markers in place of the earlier gilt details. It comes in three versions: a riveted-style three-link Oyster bracelet (-0001), a five-link Jubilee-style bracelet with polished centre links (-0003) and a black rubber strap (-0002). All have a folding clasp with Tudor’s T-fit micro-adjustment, which offers 8 mm of tool-free adjustment. Launch prices were USD 4,425 on the riveted bracelet, USD 4,225 on rubber and USD 4,500 on the Jubilee bracelet. Tudor’s site now lists the -0001 at USD 5,325.
Monochrome said some might find the watch boring but called it one of the best classic dive watches available. It praised the Master Chronometer movement, the T-fit clasp and a timeless design that will still look purposeful years from now. Reader comments were more mixed. Some called it the most boring release of the year or preferred a vintage Rolex Submariner 14060. Others criticised the 13.6 mm thickness, the long lug-to-lug and the need to send METAS-certified movements to Tudor for servicing. As of October 2026 the M7941A1A0NU-0001 is part of Tudor’s permanent collection and is in production.
