The Tissot T-Touch, launched in 1999, is a titanium quartz watch with a touch-sensitive sapphire crystal. Touching the glass at marked points activates functions such as a compass, an altimeter, a barometer, a thermometer, a chronograph and an alarm. It has a case of about 41 mm in titanium, and a sapphire crystal with the touch sensors.
It was one of the first watches to use a touch-sensitive crystal and a forerunner of the smartwatch era. The multi-function layout, with a dial that stays analogue and clear, made it a practical outdoor watch for hikers and climbers.
The community remembers the T-Touch as an innovative and durable quartz watch, though the original is now a niche collectible. The T-Touch family remains in Tissot’s catalogue in updated generations.
