About this watch

The Formex Field Automatic Deep Blue (SKU 0660.1.6532.844) is a 40 mm field watch whose case, crown and bezel are made of Grade 2 titanium. Formex applies a proprietary hardening treatment that raises the surface hardness from 145 to 900 Vickers, which the brand says is nearly three times harder than Grade 5 titanium. The case is 10.6 mm high (8.8 mm perceived), measures 46.6 mm from lug to lug and takes 20 mm straps, and the case alone weighs just 54 g. Sapphire crystals with an inner anti-reflective treatment protect both the dial and the caseback. Inside is a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-2 Power+ automatic movement with 26 jewels, a 4 Hz frequency and a 65-hour power reserve. Water resistance is 150 meters.

The watch shows hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. The Deep Blue dial uses a two-part construction: a flat, sunburst-finished centre disc surrounded by a sloped minute track, with recessed numerals and 5-minute markers deep-filled with color-matched Super-LumiNova BGW09. A bevelled date window with a color-matched date disc completes the layout. The Field Automatic comes on nylon Velcro straps with quick-release spring bars, or on Italian calf leather fitted with Formex’s carbon-fibre composite deployant clasp and its patented on-the-fly micro-adjustment of up to 7 mm. Formex lists it at EUR 950 on its own store.

The Field Automatic is widely seen as one of the most technically advanced field watches near the $1,000 mark. Reviewers highlight the hardened titanium case, which keeps the watch very light without giving up scratch resistance, the 150 m water resistance that is unusual for a field watch, and the tool-free strap changes. The textured, layered dial and the long 65-hour power reserve of the SW200-2 Power+ are the other points most often praised. The Field Automatic Deep Blue is currently in production: Formex shows it as out of stock with pre-orders open, with shipments expected from late October to mid-November 2026.
