About this watch

The Caravelle Sea Hunter 43B175 is an automatic dive watch from Caravelle, the more affordable label within Bulova. The stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter, with 20 mm between the lugs, a screw-down caseback and an oversized guardless screw-down crown. Water resistance is 200 m. A double-domed mineral box crystal covers the matte black dial, which has printed beige lumed indexes, Arabic numerals at 12, 6 and 9, a spade hour hand, a sword minute hand and a date window at 3 o’clock. The unidirectional bezel has a black aluminium insert with a full scale and a lume pip at 12. Inside is the Miyota calibre 8215, a 21-jewel automatic with hacking seconds and a 42-hour power reserve, showing hours, minutes, seconds and date.

The Sea Hunter revives a 1969 Caravelle diver, sometimes called the Devil Diver because the dial reads 666 feet. The original measured 35 mm and used an acrylic crystal, so the reissue is larger and swaps the acrylic for mineral glass. The 43B175 comes on a tapering three-link Oyster-style steel bracelet with quick-release spring bars and a signed folding clasp with safety latch, and weighs about 156 g. It went on sale on 25 September 2025 through Bulova and authorised dealers. Gear Patrol reported a suggested price of USD 375 at launch, while Bulova’s US site now lists USD 395 and regularly offers discounts.

Gear Patrol called it a 39 mm automatic diver with a strong design, real history, solid specifications and very good wearability for the money, and judged it better looking than a Seiko SKX with more character. Its criticisms were the mineral crystal, which scratches easily and cannot be polished like acrylic, and weak lume. The Miyota movement and Citizen ownership mean it is not Swiss made, which keeps the price low. The 43B175 is in production as of October 2026 and listed on Bulova’s official website.
