About this watch

The Bulova Wilton GMT 96B385 is a 43 mm automatic GMT watch from the Wilton line of Bulova’s Classic collection. Its silver-tone stainless steel case has a 22 mm lug width and is topped by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. The blue dial carries a world map, with the land areas raised in a CD-groove texture and latitude and longitude lines raised over the sea, along with Roman numeral hour markers and silver accents. It is powered by Bulova’s self-winding caliber 9075, a 24-jewel automatic movement with a power reserve of about 42 hours. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, which covers splashes and rain but not swimming. Bulova does not publish the case thickness or lug-to-lug length.

The watch has four central hands for the hours, minutes, seconds and a second time zone, plus a date window at 3 o’clock. The GMT hand has a luminous tip and reads against a two-tone 24-hour ring on the dial. The 9075 lets the wearer set the local hour hand to a new time zone without stopping the watch or affecting its accuracy, which makes the Wilton a “true” traveler GMT. It comes on a black embossed alligator-grain leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a nubuck lining, closed by a double-press deployant buckle. Bulova listed the 96B385 at USD 875 in the United States and CAD 1,050 in Canada.

Reviewers praised the Wilton GMT for bringing a local jumping-hour GMT movement, a feature usually found on much more expensive watches, to a sub-$1,000 dress watch. Luxe Digital liked its sleek, business-friendly case without crown guards and found it lighter on the wrist than in the hand. The main criticism is size: reviewers measured it at about 12.7 mm thick and 49.5 mm lug to lug, which is large for a dress watch, and some owners on Bulova’s site found the lume weak. Bulova’s official US store no longer lists the 96B385, so it appears to be discontinued and is now mainly found through retailers and on the pre-owned market.
