About this watch

The Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, launched in 2014, is an ultra-thin manual-wind watch with a flying tourbillon, and it was marketed as the thinnest tourbillon watch in the world at the time. It has a 40 mm octagonal-over-round case in titanium or gold with a thickness of about 5 mm, and I did not verify the exact movement thickness and power reserve. The octagonal bezel and angular case follow the Octo design Bulgari had introduced earlier.

The watch started Bulgari’s series of record-thin watches and was a contender at the 2014 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, as shown on the GPHG site. It was followed by ultra-thin minute repeaters, chronographs and automatics.

The community sees the Octo Finissimo as a bold, modern design and a surprise coming from a jeweller, although some find the faceted case angular. The Octo Finissimo collection remains in production.
