The Breguet Tradition reference 7027, introduced in 2005, is a 37 mm hand-wound watch in 18 kt gold with the movement partly visible on the dial side. The calibre 507 DR has a power reserve of about 50 hours, with an off-centre dial for the hours and minutes, a small seconds and a visible mainspring barrel and balance. The movement uses Breguet’s pare-chute shock protection.
The design is a nod to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s pocket watches, in which the mechanism was left open to view. The Tradition combined that style with modern finishing, and the watch has a retained historic layout in a contemporary case.
The 7027 was well received for bringing a historical look into the current catalogue, although some reviewers found the layout busy. The Tradition collection is still in production in newer references; the 7027 itself has been succeeded by later models.
