Jono Holt

Jono Holt is a British entrepreneur and marketing specialist best known as one of the four co-founders of the independent watch brand Farer. Established in 2015 and based in Ascot, Berkshire, Farer has gained international recognition for its “British design, Swiss made” philosophy, emphasizing bold colors and high-quality mechanical movements.

Before entering the horological industry, Holt built a successful career in the branding and advertising sectors. He is a co-founder of OtherWay, a London-based strategic marketing and communications agency. His expertise in brand building and creative strategy played a pivotal role in the early development of Farer, helping to establish its identity as a brand for “modern adventurers.” Holt launched the venture alongside partners Stuart Finlayson, Ben Lewin, and Paul Sweetenham, with the team originally releasing a collection of nine quartz watches before transitioning into automatic and mechanical timepieces.

Holt’s involvement with the watch industry extended beyond Farer through his collaboration with Paul Sweetenham on Shore Projects, a minimalist watch brand focused on interchangeable straps. His dual background in professional marketing and enthusiast-driven watch design has been instrumental in Farer’s ability to navigate the competitive microbrand landscape. Within the founding group, Holt has contributed to the brand’s distinctive storytelling and selective retail strategy, ensuring that Farer maintains its reputation for unique, heritage-inspired design combined with contemporary functionality.

Today, Holt continues to influence the direction of the brand as it expands its collections, including chronographs, GMTs, and dive watches. His work remains centered on the original vision of creating high-specification, accessible timepieces that celebrate the spirit of exploration and British design innovation.
