About this watch

The UR-FREAK, reference 2413-500LE-2A-UR/3B, is a joint creation of Ulysse Nardin and Urwerk that combines the Freak’s rotating movement with Urwerk’s satellite hour display. The sandblasted titanium case is 44 mm in diameter and 12 mm high and has a fluted rotating bezel, a sapphire crystal, an open sapphire caseback and water resistance of 30 m. There is no crown. Time is set by flipping a small lever between the lugs at six o’clock and turning the bezel, and the movement can be wound by rotating the caseback, which has machined notches for grip. The hours are shown by three satellites carrying jumping-hour numerals on a rotating carousel that sweep a minute scale on the right. The new automatic calibre UN-241 (UR-241) has 263 components and 25 jewels, runs at 3 Hz (21,600 vph) and has a 90-hour power reserve. It uses Ulysse Nardin’s Grinder winding system, a silicon balance spring and a DIAMonSil escapement.

The watch was announced in November 2025 as a limited edition of 100 pieces, sold through retail partners common to both brands. The carousel principle comes from the Freak, which Ulysse Nardin introduced in 2001, the satellite hours from Urwerk. Electric yellow accents (Pantone 395C) mark the hour pointers and minute track,. The watch is delivered on an integrated yellow rubber strap with a ballistic texture and a titanium folding clasp, with a black rubber strap as an alternative. The price is CHF 100,000 excluding taxes; Luxury Bazaar cites about USD 122,200.

Watches By SJX was strongly positive, writing that the collaboration feels both inevitable and extraordinary and calling it one of the most compelling products from either brand. It praised the way the satellite display sits on the Freak base, the fresh look of the notched bezel and yellow accents, and judged the price appropriate. Its reservations were the large 44 mm case, and Ulysse Nardin’s claim that Grinder winding is twice as efficient as a normal automatic system, which SJX considers unproven. Luxury Bazaar called it one of the year’s biggest surprises, a concept that works far better than it sounds on paper. As of October 2026 the UR-FREAK is a limited edition of 100 pieces; whether all pieces have been allocated has not been reported.
