The Traska Seafarer (Ref. 5223) is the brand’s vintage-inspired dual-crown dive watch, an homage to the super-compressor style divers of the 1950s and 60s, offered in Charcoal Black, Steel Blue, Stone Gray and Sun-Bleached Orange. The 316L stainless steel case is 38.5 mm in diameter, 11.3 mm thick including the box-style double-domed sapphire crystal (9.5 mm case height), 46 mm lug-to-lug with 20 mm lugs, and water resistant to 150 m. The internal rotating bezel is operated by a screw-down second crown, the dial has printed three-dimensional hour markers and a semi-matte finish, and the movement is the Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic. The tapering 316L bracelet has a micro-adjustable clasp with five settings, and Traska lists the watch at $665.
The Calibrated Wrist, Watch Report and Fratello call the Seafarer good value, praising the finishing and hardened steel at a price well below $1,000, and note that the third generation made the second crown screw-down. One reviewer preferred the Freediver, so the choice is a matter of taste. The sources disagree on the price of earlier generations.
The Seafarer is in Traska’s current line-up, sold in batches; at the time of checking all colors were sold out.
