About this watch

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph is the 2025 revival of the colourful Formula 1 line that TAG Heuer first released in 1986. The case grows from the original 35 mm to 38 mm and is made either of steel or of TH-Polylight, a lightweight bio-polyamide exclusive to TAG Heuer. All versions have a bidirectional 60-click bezel in TH-Polylight, a steel screw-down caseback, an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and 100 metres of water resistance, with a crown that does not screw down. The dials use large luminous dot and baton markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. Inside is the solar-powered quartz calibre TH50-00. About two minutes of direct sunlight give a full day of running, a full charge lasts up to ten months in darkness, and the rechargeable cell is rated for around 15 years.

TAG Heuer presented nine models at Watches and Wonders in April 2025. The three regular references are WBY1111.BA0042, a white dial with black bezel on a steel case and three-link bracelet; WBY1112.BA0042, with blue dial and bezel on steel; and WBY1161.FT8086, a red bio-polyamide case with white dial and red rubber strap. Six limited editions in racing colours were tied to individual Grands Prix, including a red and green Monza edition modelled on the original reference 384.513. Launch prices were CHF 1,850 on the steel bracelet and CHF 1,750 on rubber. US authorised dealer The 1916 Company lists WBY1111.BA0042 at USD 2,050, and the polyamide editions at USD 1,850.

The 1916 Company called the Formula 1 Solargraph a surprise hit of Watches and Wonders 2025, linking its appeal to the cult following of the original series. Its writers praised the colours, the comfortable fit, the precise bezel action, the night legibility and the reliability of the solar movement, and judged the price fair in the current market. They also noted that it is not a dive watch, that cheaper solar quartz watches exist, and that at around USD 1,850 to 2,050 it is no longer the inexpensive purchase the 1980s originals were, with much of the value in nostalgia. The related Kith collaboration drew mixed reactions because of its limited availability. The three core references remain in production as of October 2026, while the race-themed limited editions were produced in limited numbers.
