For the Oyster’s centenary in 2026, Rolex added full-gold versions of the small Oyster Perpetual with natural-stone hour markers. The first reference, the Oyster Perpetual 28 ref. 276208, has a 28 mm 18 kt yellow gold Oyster case with a polished domed bezel and a screw-down Twinlock crown. It has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 m. The green stone lacquer dial has heliotrope markers at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock with an ogive-cut top surface, alongside Chromalight markers with blue luminescence. It is powered by the self-winding Manufacture calibre 2232, which runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a Syloxi silicon hairspring and a power reserve of about 55 hours. It carries Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer certification of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing.
The second launch reference, the Oyster Perpetual 34 ref. 124205 in 18 kt Everose gold, has a blue stone dial with dumortierite markers at the same positions. Rolex says natural-stone hour markers are a first for the brand. Both watches also have predominantly satin-finished cases and Oyster bracelets with polished edges, a first for full precious-metal Oyster Perpetual models. The bracelet is a three-piece solid-link Oyster in matching gold with a folding Oysterclasp and 5 mm Easylink extension. The models were presented in April 2026 alongside the centenary OP 41 and OP 36. Launch prices were USD 30,000 or EUR 29,700 for the OP 28 and USD 38,100 or EUR 37,600 for the OP 34. Monochrome later covered more 34 mm gold versions, including yellow gold ref. 124208 and further dial colours.
Monochrome’s Rebecca Doulton called the gold Oyster Perpetual 34 a surprising winner and a compact unisex luxury watch. She said the satin-brushed finishing tames the gold and the stone-marker dials look rich. Her main caveat was price, at roughly six times a standard steel Oyster Perpetual. Several Monochrome readers were harsher, calling the watches overpriced for an industrially made product and disputing the idea that a solid gold Rolex is quiet luxury. Others liked the less shiny, brushed look. As of October 2026, ref. 276208 is listed on Rolex.com as a current model and is in production.
