The Orient Bambino Version 2 Small Seconds RA-AP0104S30B is a 38.4 mm dress watch from Orient’s long-running Bambino line. Its round stainless steel case is 12 mm thick, with a 44 mm lug-to-lug length and a 20 mm lug width. The white dial carries Roman numeral hour markers, a railway minute track and a small seconds register, and it sits under the domed mineral crystal that defines the Bambino’s vintage look. It is powered by Orient’s in-house caliber F6222, an automatic movement that can also be wound by hand and has a hacking seconds hand. The F6222 provides a power reserve of about 40 hours. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, which covers splashes and rain but not swimming.

The watch shows hours and minutes in the center, running seconds in a sub-dial at 6 o’clock and a date window at 3 o’clock. An exhibition caseback shows the movement. It comes on a black leather strap with a pin buckle, 20 mm wide at the lugs. The same Version 2 Small Seconds case is also offered with a black dial (RA-AP0101B), a champagne dial (RA-AP0105Y) and a second white-dial version (RA-AP0106S). Orient USA lists the RA-AP0104S30B at a regular price of USD 425 and was selling it at USD 310 at the time of writing.

Reviewers see the 38.4 mm Small Seconds as a well-judged update of the Bambino. Dappered described it as a mash-up of the vintage-style Bambino and the original 40.5 mm Small Seconds, sized down to 38.4 mm, and said it looks great. Oracle of Time liked the restrained, classic case shape, with a polished bezel, brushed flanks and fairly slim lugs, and noted that the watch is light for its size. The compromises are the ones that keep the price low: a mineral crystal instead of sapphire, 30 m water resistance and a rated accuracy of -15 to +25 seconds per day. The RA-AP0104S30B is currently in production and sold through Orient’s official US online store.
