About this watch

The Kudoke 3 Salmon, reference KUD3sal, is a time-only watch from the HANDwerk line of German independent watchmaker Stefan Kudoke. The polished stainless steel case measures 39 mm in diameter and 10.3 mm in height and is water resistant to 5 bar (50 m). Sapphire crystals are fitted on the front and the caseback. The split-level dial pairs a salmon-coloured upper dial, cut with a gentle wave, with a silver-plated lower dial carrying a raised hour plate divided into three concentric scales. Minutes are shown by a large heat-blued steel hand with Kudoke’s infinity symbol in its eye. The hours are read from a single hand with three arms of different lengths, each arm covering its own four-hour scale. The movement is the in-house hand-wound Kaliber 1, developed with Habring2 and using a gear train derived from the Valjoux 7750. It has 18 jewels, runs at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), offers 46 hours of power reserve and is hand finished with a raised, hand-engraved balance cock.

The Kudoke 3 was introduced in March 2023, and the salmon dial variant followed in April 2024. Watches By SJX compared its triple-scale hour display to the seconds register of the 1990s Daniel Roth tourbillon. Other dial versions include rhodium, raspberry red, sky blue, black and engraved Flakes dials, with optional skeletonised or engraved movements and a rose gold case. The watch is supplied on an alligator strap with a pin buckle. Kudoke lists the Kudoke 3 from EUR 9,584 excluding taxes, the GPHG listing gives CHF 9,905 including VAT, and US retailer Exquisite Timepieces lists it at USD 11,900.

The Kudoke 3 Salmon won the Petite Aiguille prize at the 2024 GPHG, Kudoke’s second win in that category after the Kudoke 2 in 2019. Watches By SJX called the Kudoke 3 thoughtful and unconventional and saw strong value in its hand finishing and frosted dial at the price, while noting that legibility is not the best, a common trade-off with unusual time displays. As of October 2026 the salmon dial is still offered on Kudoke’s website as a Kudoke 3 dial option, and the watch is in production in small numbers.
