The Dennison ALD Natural Stone Tiger Eye in Gold, reference ALD-G-ST03, is a two-hand quartz watch with a cushion-shaped stainless steel case finished in gold PVD. The case measures 37 mm by 33.5 mm and about 6 mm thick, with no visible lugs, a flush sapphire crystal, a recessed crown and 30 m of water resistance. The dial is a slice of natural tiger’s eye, cut and polished so that the banding differs from one piece to the next. It carries only gold-tone hour and minute hands and the Dennison name, with no indices. The movement is the Swiss Ronda quartz calibre 1062. The watch comes on a 20 mm embossed brown leather strap with a gold-tone pin buckle shaped to follow the curve of the case.
Dennison was founded in 1874 by Aaron Lufkin Dennison, after whom the ALD collection is named, and became known as a maker of watch cases before going dormant after the 1960s. The revived brand launched the ALD line in late 2024 around a single cushion case based on a 1960s archive design and drawn by Emmanuel Gueit, known for the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. The collection includes sunray dials and several natural stone dials, with cases in gold PVD or plain steel, and the tiger’s eye stone is also used in later dual-time and mixed-stone versions. At launch the stone-dial models cost USD 690. The GPHG listed this watch at CHF 660 including VAT, and Dennison’s US store now lists it at USD 790.
In November 2025 the watch won the Challenge Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the category for watches under CHF 2,000. Gear Patrol noted that it beat rivals from Christopher Ward, Atelier Wen and Kurono Tokyo that cost well above USD 2,000, and called Dennison one of the most talked-about brands of 2025. Worn & Wound’s hands-on said the stone dials set a high bar for stone dials under USD 1,000 and supported the choice of quartz to keep the price down. It also mentioned that the case edge occasionally dug into the wrist and questioned whether the stone-dial trend would last. As of October 2026 the Tiger Eye in Gold remains in production and on sale through Dennison’s website.
