The Casio G-Shock GA-2100, released in 2019, is a slim analogue-digital G-Shock with an octagonal bezel. It has a resin case of roughly 45 mm by 48.5 mm and 11.8 mm thick, a water resistance of 200 metres, a quartz movement and a “Carbon Core Guard” structure that makes it thinner than earlier G-Shocks while keeping the shock resistance.
The octagonal bezel and the case shape resemble the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, so the watch is widely nicknamed the “CasiOak”. It was designed to be slimmer and more wearable than the usual G-Shock, and it has been issued in dozens of colours and in steel and metal-covered versions.
It was a large success with the watch community and with the wider public, and it is credited with bringing a younger audience to G-Shock. It remains in production.
