About this watch

The Berneron Quantième Annuel is a hand-wound annual calendar. The round case measures 38 mm in diameter, 10 mm thick and 45 mm from lug to lug. About 85 percent of its mass is 950 platinum, with removable and replaceable 904L steel parts on the bezel, lugs and crown pusher to protect wear areas. Sapphire crystals cover the dial and the hunter-style caseback, which opens with a pusher coaxial to the crown, and water resistance is 30 metres. The lacquered 18k gold dial comes in silver with blue accents or black with silver accents. The calibre 595 measures 30 x 5.95 mm, has 476 components and 33 jewels, uses two barrels for about 100 hours of power reserve and runs at 21,600 vph, with plates and bridges in solid 18k gold.

The display separates hours, minutes and seconds in a regulator-like layout. It shows an instantaneous jumping hour, jumping day, month and AM/PM indications, a retrograde date and small seconds, and it needs correction only once a year, at the start of March. The watch was unveiled in September 2025 as the brand’s second model after the Mirage. Production is set at 24 pieces per dial colour per year for ten years, sold directly by Berneron on a Barenia leather strap with a steel pin buckle. Pricing rises each year: CHF 120,000 excluding taxes for 2026 deliveries, CHF 130,000 in 2027 and CHF 140,000 in 2028.

Reviewers praised the legibility and the engineering. SJX’s hands-on singled out the balanced retrograde date scale and called the setting pushers a solution many established brands would benefit from copying, while finding the Côtes de Genève on the gold plates heavy-handed and noting that many online commenters would have preferred an all-platinum case to the steel bumpers. Monochrome said the watch did not disappoint and praised its readability and finishing, but questioned the choice of hand-winding for an annual calendar, the usefulness of the day/night indicator and the movement not being fully made in-house. The rising price scheme and the price itself, more than twice that of A. Lange & Söhne’s Saxonia Annual Calendar according to SJX, are the main points of debate. As of October 2026 the Quantième Annuel is in serial limited production, with first deliveries starting that month.
