Berneron is an independent Swiss watch brand created by French designer Sylvain Berneron with co-founder Marie-Alix Berneron. Before starting the brand, Sylvain Berneron worked in industrial design for BMW, Porsche and Ducati, then in the watch industry at Richemont and at Breitling, where he became chief product officer. He founded the company in 2022 with his own funds, investing around one million Swiss francs, most of it in developing the first movement, and presented the first watch in October 2023. Berneron is based in Neuchâtel and states that its watches are conceived, developed, manufactured and assembled in the cantons of Neuchâtel and Jura.
The brand is known for the Mirage, a gold watch with an asymmetric, organically shaped case, launched with the in-house hand-wound Calibre 233 in a Sienna version in yellow gold and a Prussian Blue version in white gold, each limited to 12 pieces a year. The Mirage Sienna won the Audacity Prize at the 2024 GPHG. A smaller Mirage 34 followed with the new hand-wound Calibre 215, which is 2.15 mm thick, and hardstone dials such as lapis lazuli and tiger’s eye. In 2025 Berneron introduced its second collection, Quantième, with the Quantième Annuel, a platinum annual calendar offered with silver or black dials and first shown at Geneva Watch Days.
