The Baltic Prismic is a hand-wound dress watch from the French brand Baltic, inspired by 1960s cocktail watches. The 36 mm case measures 44 mm from lug to lug and 9.2 mm thick including the crystal (7.4 mm without), with a 20 mm lug width. It is built from five parts: the bezel, lugs and caseback are stainless steel, mounted on a middle case in grade 5 titanium with a grained finish, and the bezel combines polished and circular-brushed levels. A double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating covers the dial, a sapphire caseback shows the movement, and water resistance is 30 metres. The dial pairs a guilloché pattern with a brushed sector, polished applied indexes, dauphine hands and a grained small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The movement is the Swiss ETA Peseux 7001, a 2.5 mm thick manual-winding calibre with 21 jewels, running at 21,600 vph with a 42-hour power reserve, decorated with Côtes de Genève, blued screws and perlage.
Baltic launched the Prismic in February 2024 with a presale and first deliveries later that year. The original line offered four dial colours: salmon, green, grey-blue and purple. Each is available on an Italian calf leather strap or a braided steel mesh bracelet with sliding clasp, both with quick-release bars. Launch prices were EUR 990 excluding VAT on leather and EUR 1,050 on the mesh bracelet. Baltic later added Prismic Stone versions with dials in pietersite, pink albite, dumortierite and bloodstone, listed from EUR 1,300.
The press response was positive. Monochrome called it a step up in refinement and execution for Baltic and judged the price competitive, while describing the movement as reliable but nothing spectacular. Time+Tide found it dressy, playful and nicely finished, and well suited to any wrist. Fratello’s Thomas Van Straaten said it feels more expensive than it is and praised the thin case and steel-titanium mix, but noted that the dial textures are stamped, the mesh bracelet is stiff, and the dial can look busy at first. Reader comments on Fratello were more divided, citing the busy dial, the wide lugs relative to the case and the higher price than earlier Baltics. The Prismic is part of Baltic’s permanent collection and remains in production as of October 2026.
