Ted Schneider is a Swiss entrepreneur and a prominent figure in the contemporary watch industry, recognized primarily as a co-founder and board member of the independent watch brand Norqain. His background is deeply rooted in Swiss horological heritage, as he is the son of Theodore Schneider, the former longtime owner of the legendary watch company Breitling.
Before his involvement with Norqain, Schneider built a professional career in the luxury goods sector. A marketing graduate from the London European Business School, he gained significant international experience working for high-profile brands such as Chanel and Breitling in major markets, including Paris, New York, and Toronto. During his tenure in Canada, he was responsible for structuring Breitling’s subsidiary and expanding its distribution network, an effort that resulted in the establishment of thirty points of sale and the assembly of a substantial local team.
In 2018, Schneider partnered with his childhood friend Ben Kuffer and former NHL player Mark Streit to launch Norqain. Based in Nidau, Switzerland, the company was established as a family-owned and completely independent brand, a distinction Schneider and his partners sought to maintain in an industry increasingly dominated by large conglomerates. As a shareholder and board member, Schneider played a key role in the conceptual stages of the brand, contributing to the design of its three core collections: Adventure, Freedom, and Independence.
Beyond his role at Norqain, Schneider has expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio into the real estate sector. He currently serves as a Business Development Manager for Swissroc Real Estate, where he utilizes his extensive professional network to oversee commercial strategy and mandates. His career is characterized by a blend of traditional watchmaking expertise and modern business development, focusing on maintaining the independence and innovative spirit of Swiss manufacturing.
