On July 1, 1882, he officially opened a watch and jewelry shop at Hauptstrasse 33 in Diessenhofen, an event he announced to the local community through the Anzeiger am Rhein newspaper.
Beyond his horological pursuits, Hanhart was a respected figure in his community, serving as the chairman and mayor of Diessenhofen for several years. However, seeking greater development opportunities for his enterprise, he made the strategic decision in 1902 to relocate the business to Schwenningen am Neckar in southern Germany.
