Viqueria

Viqueria is an Italian watch microbrand founded in 2017 by Nicolò Debenedictis and Omar Dimauro. Based in Voghera, Italy, the brand’s name is derived from the city’s ancient Roman name, reflecting a heritage that influences its design language. Before establishing the watch company, the founders gained industry experience by creating 2DStraps in 2012, a company specializing in handmade Tuscan leather straps.

Enthusiasts are often drawn to Viqueria for its combination of bold Italian styling, vibrant colors, and technical specifications offered at an accessible price point. The watches frequently feature 316L marine-grade stainless steel construction, sapphire or custom high-dome crystals, and reliable mechanical, automatic, or meca-quartz movements. A significant appeal for collectors is the brand’s commitment to limited production runs, often restricted to 300 individually numbered pieces per model, and the fact that their timepieces are regulated in-house in Italy.

The brand’s catalog is defined by several key collections and models: – Levante: An automotive-inspired mechanical chronograph featuring the Seagull ST1901 movement, known for its exhibition case back and vintage racing aesthetic. A second version, the Levante MK2, utilizes a meca-quartz movement and offers new color combinations like Racing Green and Meteorite.
– Calipso: A robust diver’s watch series that includes the Calipso GMT, noted for providing a distinct alternative to mainstream dive watch designs.
– Trecento GMT: A travel-ready collection featuring stone dials, such as those made from nature-shaped materials under pressure.
– Roma: A dressier line of watches characterized by automatic movements and more understated styling compared to the sportier models.
– Maestrale: A GMT dive watch equipped with a Swiss Soprod C125 GMT movement, emphasizing higher-end technical specifications.
