Rémy Cools

Rémy Cools is a French independent watchmaker who works from a small workshop on the shores of Lake Annecy in Haute-Savoie, about 50 km from Geneva. He trained at the Lycée Edgar Faure in Morteau, and his final school project, a hand-made tourbillon table clock, won the Young Talent Competition organised by F.P. Journe and the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie at SIHH 2018. After a few months at Greubel Forsey he set up on his own in 2019. The workshop produces around a dozen watches a year with two watchmakers, Cools and his partner.

His first model, the Tourbillon Souscription, was presented in 2020 as a subscription series of nine stainless-steel watches, with a 40 mm case, a hand-engraved silver dial and two fold-out keys on the caseback; the first pieces were completed in 2025. It was followed in 2023 by the Tourbillon Atelier, a 39 x 12 mm platinum watch with a proprietary hand-wound movement, a 13 mm one-minute tourbillon, a crown at 3 o’clock and a 55-hour power reserve, limited to 36 pieces and sold directly by the watchmaker. The Tourbillon Atelier won the Horological Revelation Prize at the 2024 GPHG.
