Laurent Ferrier

Laurent Ferrier is a Geneva-based independent brand founded by watchmaker Laurent Ferrier after a career of about 37 years at Patek Philippe. He started the company with his son Christian Ferrier and François Servanin, an industrialist and amateur racing driver with whom he had finished third at Le Mans in 1979; Servanin provided the funding and business expertise. The first watch was presented in 2010, which is the year most sources give for the brand’s founding, although the company itself is sometimes dated to 2009. Laurent and Christian Ferrier continue to work together in the brand’s creative department.

The brand is known for pebble-shaped Galet cases, restrained dials and finely finished movements. Its first model, the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral, won the Men’s Watch Prize at the 2010 GPHG. Later GPHG prizes include the Horological Revelation Prize for the Galet Square in 2015, the Men’s Complication Prize for the Galet Annual Calendar School Piece in 2018, the Tourbillon Prize for the Grand Sport Tourbillon Pursuit in 2023 and the Calendar and Astronomy Prize for the Classic Moon in 2024. The Sport Auto line arrived in 2022, and at Watches and Wonders 2026 the brand added the 42 mm titanium Sport Traveller, a dual-time watch with the new LF275.01 micro-rotor calibre.
