The Yema Navygraf first appeared in the early 1970s as a simpler sibling of the Yema Superman. It dropped the bezel lock and had a Bakelite bezel insert, “exclamation point” markers and 200 metres of water resistance. The modern Navygraf Heritage has a 39 mm brushed 316L steel case that is 12 mm thick with 19 mm lugs, a matte black or blue dial with vintage orange markers, a Sellita SW200 automatic with 38 hours of power reserve, and a hesalite crystal. Retailers list it at 300 metres, and it sold for US$749 direct from the brand. In 2020 Yema partnered with the French Air Force and the French Navy, and the first official Marine Nationale watches were based on the 1970s Navygraf. The Navygraf Marine Nationale CMM.10, reviewed by Monochrome, has a 39 mm case 46 mm from lug to lug and about 11 mm thick. It has a unidirectional bezel with a blue sapphire insert, a double-domed sapphire crystal, a sapphire caseback and 300 m water resistance. Its in-house CMM.10 automatic runs at 28,800 vph with a 70-hour power reserve and −3/+5 seconds a day, and it was priced at €1,690 on a bracelet or €1,590 on a parachute strap. Other versions include a 38.5 mm Marine Nationale GMT, a quartz Marine Nationale with a Seiko VH31 at €449, the black IP Navygraf Phantom limited to 200 pieces, and the forged-carbon Barracuda CMM.20 limited to 400 pieces.
Collectors see the Navygraf as an honest, robust diver with genuine French military ties. One reviewer gave the Heritage four stars and called it a hardy, subtle, stylish, legible watch that glows in the dark, and owner reviews on Dialicious describe it as robust and functional. Monochrome found the Marine Nationale redesign sleeker and more contemporary and called the CMM.10 one of the most exciting upgrades. Its readers asked for a double deployant clasp, and some criticised the anti-reflective coating on earlier models and sharp crown guards. Watch Report’s hands-on with the Phantom found the bracelet too thin for the case and the lume on the seconds hand weak.
The original 1970s Navygraf is no longer made, but the Navygraf name is in production at Yema across the Heritage, Marine Nationale and limited-edition ranges. Specifications differ significantly between references.
