The Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain, shown at Baselworld in 2018, is a hand-wound precision timepiece by the watchmaker Rexhep Rexhepi, produced under the Akrivia name. It has a precious-metal case of about 38 mm and a dial with a small seconds subdial, and it is powered by a movement made and finished by hand to the standards of a classic chronometer. I could not confirm the exact movement figures from a primary source, so they are not stated.
Rexhepi founded Akrivia in 2012 after working at Patek Philippe and Vianney Halter. The Chronomètre Contemporain is his reinterpretation of the traditional precision watch, with classical proportions and the hand finishing associated with the best independent makers.
It won the Men’s Watch prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2018, and the independent watchmaking community regards it as one of the leading watches of its era. It is made in very small numbers by Rexhepi’s workshop, so production is limited and the status is left blank. The watch is linked to the Akrivia brand page.
