The Lorier Zephyr is a tonneau-shaped dress watch from the New York brand Lorier, inspired by Jazz Age designs such as the Rolex Tonneau, the 1931 LeCoultre Reverso and the Cartier Tank Louis. Its 316L stainless steel case measures 31 mm wide, which Lorier says fits like a 35 mm round watch. It is 8 mm thick and 42 mm long lug to lug, with an 18 mm lug width. The White version has a silvery white guilloché-pattern dial with light rippling outward from the center, Art Deco markers and heat-blued hands. A sapphire crystal with a seven-layer anti-reflective coating on the inner side protects the dial. It is powered by the Miyota 9029, a no-date, two-hand automatic beating at 28,800 vph. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
The Zephyr shows hours and minutes only, with no seconds hand and no date. Each watch came with two 18 mm quick-release leather straps, black and chestnut for the White dial, in a choice of two lengths for 5.5–6.5 in. or 6.5–7.5 in. wrists. Lorier also offered custom caseback engraving for an extra USD 35. The Zephyr was also made with a black dial with gilt accents and a crimson red dial, plus a small limited run in blue. The USD list price was 549.
Reviewers widely saw the Zephyr as Lorier’s most refined design and a rare small, vintage-proportioned dress watch from a microbrand. Worn & Wound found the guilloché “particularly nicely executed” and the watch “a pleasure” on the wrist. It also called the polished finish “absolutely appropriate”, but it described the automatic movement as a “missed opportunity” for a design that suits a hand-wound caliber. It added that 31 mm sits “right on the borderline” for larger wrists. Mainspring praised the case shape, the dial and Lorier’s fair pricing, and said the Zephyr “exemplifies the seducing power of a well-designed, well-spec’d retro-looking timepiece”. The Zephyr is no longer in production: Lorier ended it after Miyota discontinued the two-hand 9029 movement, so it is now found only on the secondary market.
