The Longines Legend Diver, launched in 2007, is a re-creation of a 1960s Longines diving watch. It has a stainless steel case of about 42 mm, a water-resistance rating of 300 metres, an automatic movement based on the ETA 2824-2, and the vintage feature that gives it its character: an internal rotating bezel, operated by a second crown at 4 o’clock. The dial has a vintage-style layout with luminous markers and a date window at 6.
The watch is based on the Longines Super-Compressor diver of the 1950s and 1960s and is part of the brand’s Heritage collection. Smaller versions of about 36 mm and variants without a date followed over the years.
Collectors praise the Legend Diver for its faithful vintage styling and good value, and it is often named as one of the best heritage-inspired divers. The line is still in production, in several sizes and finishes.
