The Citizen Tsuyosa NJ0150-56E is a 40 mm automatic watch with an integrated bracelet, from Citizen’s popular Tsuyosa collection. Its silver-tone stainless steel case pairs with a sunray black dial under a sapphire crystal, chosen by Citizen for its scratch resistance and hardness. It is powered by Citizen’s in-house Caliber 8210 automatic movement, which has a hacking seconds hand and a power reserve of about 42 hours. Water resistance is rated at 5 bar (50 meters), suitable for still-water swimming.

The watch shows hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. The stainless steel bracelet flows directly from the case and closes with a fold-over clasp with push buttons. Citizen lists the NJ0150-56E at a regular price of USD 495 on its US site, where it was on sale at USD 371.25 at the time of writing.

The Tsuyosa has become one of Citizen’s best-known affordable mechanical watches. Reviewers praise its integrated-bracelet look at a fraction of the price of luxury sports watches, the bright dial colours and the sapphire crystal, which is rare at this price. The usual reservations concern the simple Caliber 8210 movement and its modest 42-hour power reserve, the 50 m water resistance and a bracelet that is less refined than on more expensive watches.
