Beaucroft ELEMENT – SUNSET ORANGE

The Beaucroft Element in “Sunset Orange” is a mechanical sports watch produced by the British independent watchmaker Beaucroft. It is designed to function as a versatile, everyday timepiece that combines the robust specifications of a sports watch with the more refined proportions of a dress watch.

Design and Dimensions

  • Case Size: The watch features a 39.5mm case diameter.
  • Thickness: It measures 11.6mm thick, which includes the crystal.
  • Lug-to-Lug: The case length from lug to lug is 46.5mm.
  • Dial: The “Sunset Orange” variant is defined by a vibrant gradient orange dial with a sunray polished finish. The dial has a multi-layered, stepped construction featuring a contrasting sunray chapter ring and a sloped rehaut.
  • Hands and Markers: It utilizes diamond-cut, rhodium-plated hands with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. The applied hour markers and hands are filled with BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova, which provides a blue glow in low-light conditions.
  • Case Finish: The stainless steel case features curved lugs and incorporates a mix of brushed, polished, and bead-blasted surface finishes.

Technical Specifications

  • Movement: The watch is powered by the Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement. It features a hacking seconds function, and Beaucroft states that each movement is hand-regulated in the UK to operate within an accuracy tolerance of +/- 10 seconds per day.
  • Water Resistance: It has a depth rating of 200 meters (20 ATM), secured by a screw-down crown.
  • Crystal: The dial is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal.
  • Durability: Both the case and the bracelet are treated with a specialized scratch-resistant coating that increases the surface hardness of the steel to approximately 1200-1300 HV.

Bracelet

The Element comes equipped with a matching stainless steel bracelet featuring fully articulating screw links. The bracelet tapers from 20mm at the lugs down to 16mm at the clasp. For sizing flexibility, the buckle incorporates an on-the-fly micro-adjustment system, and the end links utilize double quick-release pins to facilitate easier strap changes.
