Guy Roebuck

Guy Roebuck is the founder and creative lead of the Roebuck Watch Company, an independent watch brand based in Round Rock, Texas. A native of New Zealand, Roebuck’s professional background is rooted in architecture, where he spent 20 years working as a residential drafter. This career provided him with a technical foundation in precision and design, although he eventually sought a more creative outlet for his artistic interests.

Roebuck’s fascination with horology began in his early teens. Over several decades, he developed a deep involvement in the hobby as a collector, buying and selling various timepieces. In 2014, he began engaging with the broader watch community through online forums, where he studied the experiences of other independent brand founders. The idea to establish his own company solidified in 2015 during a trip to New Zealand, following a discussion with friends about pursuing one’s passions.

Roebuck Watch Company was officially established in 2015, with its debut model, the Diviso, launching in 2020. Roebuck oversees the design and operations of the brand, which is characterized by a “neo-vintage” aesthetic and a philosophy centered on four core elements: shape, color, texture, and quality. His designs often incorporate architectural and automotive influences, such as the use of textured dials inspired by corrugated metal roofing and colorways that pay homage to historic motorsport teams.

Under Roebuck’s leadership, the brand has expanded its catalog to include subsequent models like the SCUBA, a 1970s-inspired dive watch. His approach emphasizes transparency and high-value specifications for the enthusiast market, utilizing reliable mechanical movements and specialized finishes. Despite sharing a surname with the co-founder of Sears, Roebuck and Co., Guy Roebuck’s enterprise is an entirely independent venture. He continues to operate the company from Texas, focusing on creating distinctive timepieces that reflect his personal design journey and international background.
