Möels

Möels & Co. is a London-based independent watch brand established in 2022 that focuses on original, design-forward horology. The brand was founded by Betina Menescal, an architect and designer who launched the company at the age of 20. Originally from Brazil and later moving to the United Kingdom, Menescal serves as the head of design, bringing an architectural background to the brand’s aesthetic. She is often supported by her father, Marcus Menescal, within the business operations.

The brand has gained a following among enthusiasts for its commitment to “creativity, desirability, and accessibility.” Collectors are drawn to the brand’s refusal to use “off-the-shelf” catalog parts; instead, almost every component, including cases, dials, and hands, is custom-designed. The aesthetic is heavily influenced by mid-century modern design, the Bauhaus movement, and the Golden Ratio. This focus on unique geometric shapes and artistic proportions has earned the brand international recognition, including the A’ Design Award and the European Product Design Award.

Möels & Co.’s catalog is defined by several distinctive models. The debut piece, the 528, is a landscape-oriented, TV-shaped dress watch. It features an asymmetric dial known as the Astra layout, characterized by star-like lines that section the dial according to the Golden Ratio. The 528 S2 is a refined version of the original, featuring a slimmer profile and a manual-winding La Joux-Perret D101 movement. Another key piece is the 369, an integrated bracelet sports-chic watch. It features a 39mm case and a unique “vortex” dial inspired by the mathematical theories of Nikola Tesla, offering a more contemporary and robust alternative with 200 meters of water resistance.
