Lorca

Lorca is an independent watch brand founded in 2022 by Jesse Marchant, a New York-based musician and recording artist. Born to a Swiss mother and a Canadian father, Marchant drew inspiration from his heritage and his personal experiences touring Europe as a solo performer. The brand was established to fill a void Marchant perceived in the market: the need for a “go-anywhere” travel watch that combines mid-century aesthetics with modern technical robustness.

The brand’s identity is defined by a “romantic but rational” design philosophy, focusing on compact, Swiss-made mechanical timepieces that avoid decorative overkill in favor of legibility and durability. Lorca watches are characterized by their restrained proportions and high-level finishing, such as integrated nine-link steel bracelets and beveled dauphine hands. Enthusiasts are particularly drawn to the brand for its commitment to Swiss-made quality—with final assembly and rigorous testing conducted in Switzerland—and its ability to offer sophisticated tool watches at an accessible premium price point.

Lorca’s catalog is currently centered on two primary models. The debut release, the Model No. 1 GMT, gained significant attention for its compact 36mm case and 200-meter water resistance. It features a distinctive fixed steel bezel with an upright typeface and is powered by a regulated Soprod C125 movement. This was followed by the Model No. 2 Chronograph, which utilizes a 37mm case and a manual-wind Sellita SW510 M movement. The chronograph is noted for its bidirectional guilloche bezel with protruding numerals and its functional focus on legibility and water resistance.
