Konstantin Chaykin

Konstantin Chaykin is a Russian independent watchmaker and inventor whose manufacture is based in Moscow. He founded it in 2003, when he began building the Foundation Tourbillon Clock, the first tourbillon clock made in Russia, and the workshop still produces interior clocks and unique pieces alongside wristwatches. Chaykin became a candidate of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) in 2008 and a full member in 2010, the first Russian watchmaker to join, and he has served as its president. The brand cites more than 100 patented inventions and has received a WIPO gold medal for its work.

Chaykin is best known for the Wristmons, a collection launched at Baselworld 2017 with the Joker, whose dial forms a face: two eye-shaped displays show the hours and minutes and a smiling moon-phase indicator forms the mouth. Later Wristmons have included a Minion, the Minotaur, the Mouse King, a Jack-O-Lantern and Dracula. The Clown, made in 27 pieces as a reference to Stephen King’s novel It, won the Audacity Prize at the 2018 GPHG, the first GPHG prize for a Russian watchmaker. In 2025 the manufacture added the Kolobok 2 Wristmon and a titanium Panda, and presented the White Rabbit, a highly complicated Wristmon, at Dubai Watch Week.
